Latest technology has made digital manipulation more accessible, but to get acceptable results and the quality demanded by printers/publishers and customers you must know a lot more than how to push a few buttons
What’s the difference between manipulation and adjustment? Well these days not a lot! ADJUSTING the colour, is correcting the exposure, (out of) focus, distortion . Manipulation is ALTERING the shape, texture, colour, adding or taking away elements of the image. If someone breaks their arm and you remove the traction or plaster cast is that manipulation or correction? What about a “bad spot day” or “I’m not normally this big” day.
